Hunter and Luz have made their way to Latissa, finally slowing down at least a bit now that they were in the town. Its also very clear at this point, with lack of people in masks/cloaks that Luz is The Only Human Around. Everyone else is some form of witch with pointed ears or demons.

"Whew. Man, Kikimora must hate you," Luz says while following a very determined Hunter. She's also carrying his staff. "Whoa. I haven't been outside Bonesborough that much. Latissa is so cool." After a bit of walking in the streets when hunter suddenly changes course. "Wait-! Where are you going?" Luz demands. Hunter doesn't answer. "Hey man, I just saved you life. The least you can do is tell me your name," she insists and Hunter growls at her dismissively.

He sees Police Preceinct 206 and ups his pace towards some scouts. "Scouts. Direct me to your communications room. I need to contact the castle immediately," he says, command clear in his voice, quite composed. He shows them the brand on his wrist.

"Cute. I didn't know kids your age were still into temporary tattoos," the scout says dismissively.

"Yeah, show us your badge number," the other scout says.

"I am your superior, and I can prove it," Hunter says and there is a slight raise of his voice, a kind of strain that, while subtle, does say how that's gotten under his skin. He turns to Luz and holds out his hand. "Staff."

Luz looks between him and the staff and puts it behind her back. Much to Hunter's shock and horror.

"Isn't it a little late for you kids to be outside?" Says the second guard.

"Yeah, go home before we call your parents," says the first as they walk away.

Hunter stares after them a few moments before turning around with an angry noise and quite a lot of rage, and Luz makes a worried noise as she turns and bolts.

Neutral Significant: My name is Hunter.

Hunter and Luz walk to the edge of a rooftop, seeing the hand dragon thing and Kikimora, ready to fly off with a large container, outside the police precinct.

"Masks on," Luz says and they put them on as they rush to a massive glyph on the wall. "Once they're surrounded by the smoke, we'll need to stay close to see where they land," Luz says. Hunter nods in acknowledgement, and focuses on the sky.

Until there's movement to the side and he sees Luz holding out his staff.

He reaches out for it, hesitates, clearly surprised at this action. "Are you...sure?" He asks, voice oddly soft.

"Just take it!" Luz insists. She clearly has some doubts, but she's pushing through them.

He takes it and they see the handdragon has taken off. Luz slams her hands to the glyph which lights up and creates a large mist. Hunter and Luz get on the staff, flying after it. They can see the handdragon is starting to drift in the air. "I think its working," Hunter whispers and Luz makes a light out of another glyph on paper.

They move in front of the creature, letting it follow them, or rather Hunter, in a daze state until they can cause it to hit the ground in a controlled crash, along with Kikimora.

They land near the package. "The Palismen!" Luz says with some relief, Hunter looking after her. He looks between his staff and her slowly, before focusing on the Palismen nest. "Hello babies. Ah, you guys look so cold and scared. Here, make sure you share," she says with worry, but glad they seem okay otherwise. "Now stay in here, okay?" He lifts up his staff, pointing it at her back. "We'll get you home safe and-"

He summons up a spell, holding the energy in his staff.

Luz freezes a moment. Then laughs nervously as she looks back. "Right. I didn't think this through. Again."

Hunter keeps the staff on her as she closes the nest and straightens up to face him. "So you're really gonna do this? You're gonna just hand over all these innocent little guys over to Belos? I know what he does with them," she says. Her tone says its Not Good, looking upset, but also defensive at the same time.

Hunter keeps his focus on her, the spell still up, even if the question causes Some Feelings in him.

"I thought you might have been a good guy," she tries, looking at him pleadingly, but seems to conclude that wouldn't work, turning resigned. "But I guess that was just wishful thinking. You're not my friend," she says and focuses on him, and he's still resolute. Or more...detached. "You're just the Golden Guard."

And that cracks something in him. It takes a moment, but her sadness turns to somehting vaguely questioning.

Hunter pulls back the energy even if he doesn't point the staff away and he pulls down the mask on his face.

"My name is Hunter," he says, and there is a weight in the way he says it, one Luz seems to understand as she gasps in surprise, staring at him in shock.

There is a moment where they just look at each other, something of an impasse forming.

Until Hunter is suddenly hit in the head with a bolt of energy, whipping around to see Kikimora has awoken.

"I can't tell whose there...but I know I got you!" Kikimora says, stumbling to her feet to fire again before falling over again, and repeating the process, getting up, firing, and falling again and again.

All the blasts go wide, save for one that is headed right for Luz. Hunter moves quickly, deflecting it with his own staff, before pulling up his mask again, deflecting another as he rushes forward.

Kikimora is firing wildly, but Hunter uses his magic to teleport out of the way, moving quickly to hit Kikimora and send her flying towards Luz. He sees she's about to fire at Luz again after she picks up a whistle, but Hunter is again quick to the defense, hitting her hand away and continues the beat down.

"This is treason against a coven official!" Kikimora shouts, managing to set fire to Hunter's lose hair which he's quick to put out. "I will have your head!"

Its a couple more deflected blasts and hard smacks with the staff before Kikimora finally stays down. Which says something about the higher coven officials when it took that much to knock out an already drugged one.

Hunter looks up as the hand dragon flies off with the palismen. He stares after her.

He does not fly or teleport after her.
