Neutral Negative: The Arrival
0:56, this video, and this video.
He stands in front of a doorway he opened and he sees rain, the outside, in another world. "Its human rain! Its okay!"
Gus rushes through, Hunter and Willow following behind into cold rain. They look back when Amity calls for Luz. The doorway is flickering in and out of existence. Luz is attempting to hold the portal together with plant magic, unwilling to go without Eda, telling them to go.
Everyone is stepping back to go for Luz. The world through the portal is in chaos, with debris floating in the air, and there's a strange child with suns and moons on him talking about playing and a pinkie swear, levitating King to them. Luz is trying to keep him with her, but King says not this time. He can protect her and he's so glad he had her as a big sister.
Amity is running for Luz, as are Willow and Gus, and Hunter is stepping after them, ready to pull them back through the portal, to safety.
King then let's out a sonic screech that sends all five of them through the portal.
"No! King!" Luz shouts, heading for the portal door as it slams shut. She throws the door open, and it only opens into the old house its attached too. She closes and opens it repeatedly to no avail.
They're in the woods, its raining, in front of an old, abandoned house. Luz is in shock. Everyone is in shock. The first to react is Gus who starts to cry.
Amity moves to Luz, reaching for her hand.
Hunter looks to Willow and glances at Gus and then at the girls before he looks to Willow again. She looks to the girls and back to him and he nods. She goes to help Amity and Luz, and Hunter goes to Gus. "What can I do?" He asks softly. Sincere and without doubt, he knows Gus will give an answer he can work with.
Gus doesn't say anything, instead turning to cling onto Hunter, crying into his chest. Hunter hesitates, before moving his arms around him. "You don't have to be the smart one. Your friends are here. Just try to breathe," he says softly, lightly tapping his fingers in a pattern on his back.
Gus cries for a while, but at least the sobbing starts to even out sooner than later, following the pattern of his fingers.
He can hear a bit of Willow with Luz and Amity. Luz is handling it the worst, Amity is trying to wind her down while trying to fight her own worry about her own family, and Willow is trying to keep them both calm. When Luz is at least somewhat composed, Willow brings up they need to go somewhere and Luz says they can go to her home.
They start to trek through the windows, Amity holding onto Luz, Hunter keeping an arm around Gus. He looks to Willow between the two groups. "Captain?"
Willow looks back and she gives a small, tried, strained smile. "Its okay."
Hunter pauses and nods. "Got it."
"Willow, are you sure?" Gus asked quietly.
"Yeah. I am," Willow said.
They fall into silence until they leave the woods and approach a house right at the edge of it and Luz rings the doorbell.
Soon, an older woman who looks like Luz answers, and tears spring to her eyes.
"Hey mom. I'm home," Luz said, and the tears finally hit her eyes as they stand in front of her home in the rain.
Neutral Negative: Luz's misguided attempts to prove his uncle is evil.

Hunter is in the night market when someone grabs his shoulder. "I even do trades," the merchant says, holding up a tooth pulling device, before realizing who he's talking to, quickly backtracking he wouldn't, trading teeth is illegal. Hunter, however, gives him no mind. He sees his target. He heard whispers of people planning to invade the emperor's mind with wild magic.
He follows three figures who have set up a ritual to do so, using potions, bard magic, and abomination magic. He rushes forward with his artificial staff. "Halt! For crimes against the Emperor, you are under arrest!"
"Hunter!" Luz shouts and tackles him to the ground. "Hey! Can I bug you with a few questions?" She asks, CASUAL AS CAN BE.
"Human!" Hunter snaps.
Then the bard plays music and the three 'villains' vanish. "No, no, stop! I forbid you to flee!" Hunter shouts even as they do.
"Human, do you know what you've just done?!" Hunter demands, summoning Flapjack to his hand and steps forward to the sound of breaking glass.
"Uh, what's that?" Luz asks as light suddenly engulfs them both.
When Hunter next opens his eyes, he finds himself in a golden hall, full of grandiose paintings, and he knows exactly where he is. Luz is nearby, stirring and getting to her feet.
"What is this place?" Luz asks.
'You know exactly where we are, human," Hunter starts, venom in his voice. "You got us trapped in the Emperor's mind!"
"We're in the Emperor's mind?! That's bananas!" Luz exclaims.
"I don't know what those are and I don't care to! Remember what happened at the night market?" Hunter demanded, still angry and frustrated.
Hunter recounts why he was in the night market and Luz then interrupts as she remembers what she was doing.
Eda had taken her and King to the Night Market to get witch's wool for her cape. Unfortunately it wasn't going well because the merchant joined a coven and refused to do business with Eda because helping wild witches would result in punishment from the Titan. Luz goes off on how its unfair and Belos is probably lying about talking to the Titan and just wants power.
Eda and King didn't think she could just change people's minds without proof. Especially when she just seems to be frustrated on how Eda is being treated.
But then she saw Hunter and she figured he'd have proof that his uncle is evil!
Hunter laughs at this idea. "You want to prove my uncle is evil. And you thought I would help?" He asked.
"Well, now that I'm in his mind, I can learn the truth for myself," Luz says in response to his snorting laughter. "Weird though. I've been in Willow's mind once, and it had more, uh, trees."
"Eh, makes sense. Mindscapes reflect the individual," Hunter says dismissively. "I've read a lot about this subject," he brags. Then he notices something. "Whoa, look at this memory!" He approaches a painting of Belos leading a bunch of witches to safety, away from a town on fire.
"You know, unfettered wild magic wiped out our family. Everyone knew too much and got themselves hurt." He starts, sad and somber. "That's why Belos took in the survivors! And dedicated his life to the coven system," he starts to get more excited, moving to another memory of Belos starting the coven system to a crowd's joy. "Its why he's so well liked. Our sigils protect us from ourselves and make the Titan happy."
Then he sees the memory of his becoming the Golden Guard. "Oh! This is when I inherited my staff!" He says, the excitement rising. "You know, I'm the youngest scout to become Golden Guard. I, uh, never found out what happened to the previous one," he admits and pauses, looking closer. "Huh. Why does Darius look so sad here?"
He looks more at the paintings of a history he knows, until movement catches his attention. "Belos!" He can see the figure of the Emperor approaching. "Emperor, you're here!" He quickly kneels. "We beg for you assistance to return to the physical world, so I may capture your enemies." He glances back, a bit more snidely. "And so she can ruin someone else's day."
Then a child like figure appears behind him, shaking his head and waving his hands in fear. Then the Belos figure starts to distort and morph into something monstrous.
Hunter doesn't act afraid.
He's seen this form before, after all.
But Luz rushes forward, setting off several fire glyphs, and sending them flying back. They rip a hole through the wall, falling through the air when Luz grabs onto him, using a glyph to cause them to stop in the air before they hit the ground.
Then hit the ground.
They both stand, looking around a scene of dead trees with portraits that Hunter isn't paying attention to at all, but someone with keen eyes might notice what he doesn't at the time. "Where are we now?" Hunter asks.
"We must be in the Emperor's real mind," Luz says.
Significant Positive: Figure out your own.

Luz and Hunter approach the edge of a building, seeing the Handdragon land besides Kikimora, dropping off the Palismen nest.
"So Kikimora was after my catch," Hunter said and looks to the side as Luz points his own staff at him.
"Seems like neither of us want her to win right now. Sooooo let's work together and take back those palismen?" Luz suggests as she pulls the staff away.
"Then what? You think I'd just let you walk away with them?" He asks with a scoff.
"Maybe you won't have a choice! I'm more formidable than you think," Luz says, twirling the staff and almost dropping it to both their horror, but catches it in time.
"I doubt that," Hunter says, unimpressed. "But. Fine. A truce 'til then," he finally relents.
"Truce!" Luz says, holding out her hand excitedly. Hunter groans and reaches for her hand, only for her to jerk it back and push back her hair. "Too slow." Running off with a laugh.
Hunter growls. "Let's get this over with."
Luz and Hunter take a look around the rooftop, trying to come up with an idea. Kikimora has to take the Palismen to the castle, so she will be leaving. They need that to happen. Hunter isn't recognized by anyone here, so he has no authority, and Kikimora could easily have them put to death before anyone knew better. But they can see there aren't any airships being prepared, so its just Kikimora and her steed. They can't just attack the steed because it might drop the nest and hurt the Palismen, which neither of them want.
Luz then gets an idea and asks if sleeping nettles would be in the precinct. Hunter confirms that yes, all precincts are supposed to have a well stocked inventory of potion ingredients, including sleeping nettles. She asks if he could get it and of course he could. All precincts have the same layout to allow covens to move around without skipping a beat.
Hunter goes on a stealth mission to get the sleeping nettles. Its not too hard, even without his staff. He knows the discrete entrances and where there's less population and beyond that, he's quick to hide himself in the ceiling and up the walls like a ninja. The advantages of being one of the more physically capable witches.
He's in and out with the sleeping nettles, coming back to the roof to see Luz drawing a huge glyph on the side of the building.
"Huh. I've never seen magic like this. What will it do?" He asked, interested.
"Well, we don't want to spook Kikimora's steed because it might drop the nest and hurt the palismen. Sooo using these fire and ice spells, I can command the glyphs to produce a thick mist," Luz said, gesturing at her work.
"And the sleeping nettles?" Hunter asked as he handed over the pot of flowers.
"They're essential," Luz says as she puts the pot in the gap in the wall with the glyph. "Combined with the magic mist, it'll create-"
"A sleeping inducing smoke, forcing Kikimora to land!" Hunter finishes, sounding excited. Luz looks at him in surprise. "Oh, um, I-I read a similar spell in the book from bones to Earth," Hunter admits shyly.
"A study of wild magic!" Luz says excitedly. "Eda once pickpocketed the guy who wrote it."
Hunter pauses. "I've...never seen glyphs before. But! It seems very similar to the elemental magic practiced in the savage ages."
"Really?" Luz asks.
Hunter continues, excited. "Actually, not many people know this, but-" Then he stops abruptly. "No. No no no no, this stuff is restricted for a reason. You should forget about it before you're hurt," he says, very serious.
"Uh huh. Other than Lilith, I've never spoken to someone in the Emperor's coven. What made you want to join?" Luz asked.
Hunter pauses and sighs, sitting down. "You were right before. I'm a powerless witch. A lot of my ancestors were. I never thought I'd have a future in a world like this," he admits, voice softer, more vulnerable. "But then Belos found me and gave me a staff with artificial magic. Said the Titan had big plans for me."
"At least you have your future figured out now," Luz says with some envy.
"At least you can figure out your own," Hunter says, with his own envy. Then the cardinal palismen lands on him and he jerks back. "Hey!" He shoos him away as Flapjack just gets closer. "Stop! Get away from me!"
"He's just being friendly," Luz says with amusement.
"I! Don't care! These things are made from wild magic. Its dangerous," Hunter insists.
"Does he seem dangerous to you?" Luz asks, gesturing to Flapjack.
He focuses on Flapjack, who chirps in a friendly matter, hopping closer. Then worry as he hears Kikimora's steed, drawing all of their attention to the edge of the roof.

There is a meeting with Belos and the nine coven heads in front of the under construction portal. The coven heads circle a brazier in the middle of the room.
"The Day of Unity approaches," Kikimora starts, "where we'll celebrate the purification of magic under the coven system, just as the Titan intended. As heads of the nine coven, we celebrat your efforts to complete this plan. For this, you have earned a glimpse of the award that awaits."
"Step forward," Belos starts and the coven heads put their emblems in the brazier. "The larger your covens grow, the more power we have to unite our realms. Where the worthy shall inherit a utopia free of wild magic." Then Belos doubles over in pain.
Hunter moves to help Belos up. Kikimora starts to follow. "No. Stay here. I can handle this alone," he orders her and they move to the throne room, where the Titan's heart beats.
Belos is in obvious pain and then his body starts to distort and morph, looking to be made of a sludge and turning monstrous, slamming his fists against the side of a metal pipe. Hunter only watches a short while before adverting his eyes. Only when he hears the slamming stop does he reach into his cloak for a wooden, hamster like creature, the staff end extending as he pulls it out.
He moves to Belos, offering it to him.
He breaks the staff in half, a green mist leaving the broken ends, and disappearing behind Belos' mask as he breathes it in. The palismen turns to dust in his hand. He holds out his hand to Hunter. "I need more."
Hunter's voice only wavers a bit. "That was the last from our reserves. The palistrom wood has been overharvested."
Belos grunts and turns away.
Hunter takes this as a sort of permission, stepping after him. "Uncle, let me help! We can make more palismen," he insists. "Actually, I read about this technique harnessing wild magic to-" Belos turns around slowly. "Uh-" Hunter stops. "Sorry." He looks away.
He doesn't move as Belos approaches, flinching slightly as Belos touches him. "Please," Belos starts and only then does he look up. "Be careful." His voice is gentle, caring. "Our family is gone because of wild magic. I can't let the same happen to you." And there's an edge the more he talks, his grip tightening on Hunter's shoulder. "Find me more Palismen. I can depend on you, right?"
Hunter is quick to agree. Eager. Always the ever helpful nephew.

"Flapjack." A voice is heard in his mind.
Hunter is surprised. "I think I understood that. Is-is that your name? Can you say it again?" He asks.
